Purpose

Follow the story of the Jasper family, an influential Black American political dynasty. Among them are civil rights leaders, pastors and congressmen that have earned the public’s unflagging respect. But the Jaspers are human like everyone else, and their family has its secrets and skeletons. When the youngest Jasper, Nazareth, returns home to Illinois with a friend, the family is forced to face what it truly stands for. This drama is directed by the one and only Phylicia Rashad.
